We welcome fundraising efforts of community and voluntary groups.
Perhaps you might feel able to organise a coffee morning, dinner party, bring and buy sale, bridge event, concert, office quiz, sponsored walk, sponsored spell in a school or a novel idea of your choice? This section is regularly updated and contains a list of upcoming and recent events to rasie funds for St Joseph & The Helpers Charity. If you are currently involved in fundraising please send us a photograph and a description of the event and we will endeavour to include you on the site as we welcome all your efforts on our behalf.
Heartfelt Thanks!
On behalf of my fellow Directors
I wish extend our heartfelt thanks to all our members, helpers and donors in Ireland, UK and USA who have raised over €1,900,000 for our building and humanitarian projects since our charity was formed. 100% of your donations go directly to the projects as all administration costs are paid by the directors of the charity.
Through your magnificent support
our projects are now making a huge difference to the lives of others in a country that has close to 60% unemployment. We can't thank you enough for your wonderful support.

From Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland to Houston, Texas!
Linda McFadden, formerly of Tullamore, has run the Houston Marathon to help the children of Bosnia Hergegovina through this charity.
While most of us were still resting and recovering following the festive season, Linda was out pounding the streets of Houston in preparation for the Marathon which took place on Sunday, 18th January.
Linda, a mother of three boys, had never run a Marathon before. However, she was so touched by the work of St Joseph & the Helpers in Bosnia Herzegovina that she wanted to help. Linda started training several months ago and we understand that she put her usually hectic social life on hold for at least some of the time since!
All her efforts and sacrifices proved worthwhile when she successfully completed the Marathon in 4.35. Linda tells us that she maintained the same pace throughout the whole race. Please visit www.active.com to see Linda’s results. Enter PEARLAND and Linda Mc Fadden (with a space).
Linda wants to help the children in orphanages and the victims of war in Bosnia Herzegovina. In particular, she wants to provide a special needs bus for the Kindergarten which we built at Kiseljak, near Sarajevo. 100 children now attend the Kindergarten where they are stimulated and cared for so beautifully by Sr Dominika and her caring staff.
Very soon, children with special needs will be starting at the Kindergarten. The special needs bus will be needed to transport these children to and from school. Linda has already raised over 20,000 dollars and we are most grateful to you all for your support. The children of Bosnia Herzegovina thank you too. You really are making a huge difference to their lives.
Do you wish to donate towards this or to any of our projects? If so, then please forward your donations to one of the three addresses listed on the website. Our “thank you” letter will follow together with the appropriate tax relief information for your country.

Linda proudly displays her finishing medal with her admiring and very supportive sons, Liam & Scan.

On 22nd April 2007 Maurice Bond ran the London Marathon. Through your kind sponsorship and Maurice's efforts, over £7,000 was raised for the Grandparents Home which enabled us to complete the project. 28 elderly people now live at the Home in safety and comfort, surrounded by a loving and caring staff. Some of the residents had lived in a nearby refugee camp where 114 families still live too frightened, even now, to return home.
Can you help us with our work by doing the Marathon for us in April 2009? For more information contact Pat Henry at 00441442391087 or Email Pat |
